Cocoa House Ibadan
About Cocoa House Ibadan
When Cocoa House was completed in 1965, it was the tallest building in Africa and a monument to post-independence optimism — built entirely from the proceeds of the Western Region's cocoa boom. Today it still stands as a proud landmark in Dugbe, its 26 floors a reminder of a period when Ibadan and Nigeria believed anything was possible. The building's history is inseparable from the story of post-colonial Nigeria, and its rooftop views of Ibadan's famous red-roofed cityscape remain spectacular.
