About University of Ibadan Botanical Garden
Set within the beautiful colonial-era campus of Nigeria's oldest university, the Botanical Garden is a living library of tropical plants spanning more than 150 acres. Established in 1948, it holds one of West Africa's most important plant collections, including rare medicinal species, towering hardwoods and carefully curated themed sections. The garden is a working research facility and a genuinely peaceful place to walk among trees that have stood for nearly a century.
